Sol is a young Latinx tuba player from Las Vegas, NV, who aims to make a real difference in the world through her innovation in music. An avid member of the community, she has been playing the tuba for over 7 years. She majored in band at the Las Vegas Academy, traveling several times with the school's top band and orchestra programs, and currently studies Music Performance at UNLV. Sol is used to performing college and professional level music, and has played on many stages (most impressively, the Weiner Musikverin). She has received instruction from Cameron Gates, the ex-principal tubist of the US Marine Band, Dr. Greg McCracken, Stephen Turner, Devon Taylor (alias: Tubared), and continues to pursue her study alongside several of the top performers around the country.
She has also received instruction on Audio Engineering and Production, and plans to minor in Music Technology at UNLV. Most notably, she has run audio at the Las Vegas Academy Performing Arts Center under the instruction of Thomas McGowan.
In her free time, Sol enjoys volunteering, learning new instruments, and spending time with her loved ones.
